Man, I hate Trump as much as the next guy but this article is missing something vital: Trump's cult of personality ensures that he will still have authority. I don't know why being wrong and lying this time would be any more damaging to his power than all the other times he's been wrong and lied.
I find it amusing that what the author is describing is kind of the bottom-up half of dual-power, yet he's still a Republican, not an anarchist. In any case, I'd bet money the Trump Presidency will still stagger on wreaking havoc for another term, unless maybe Sanders wins the Democratic nomination.
Question for you, do you generally give credence to Republicans who try to distance themselves from their party's atrocities? e.g. David Frum?
